Job Description:
Off-Premise at Portillo’s is unlike anywhere else. We have been a beloved brand with die-hard fans since Founder Dick Portillo opened his first hot dog stand in 1963. When we open new restaurants, our fans stand in long lines just to be the first to sample their favorites from our menu. We believe that the best marketing is done by giving our customers the Portillo’s experience – fresh food in a fun, clean environment.
Off-Premise refers to dining that takes place outside of the walls of our restaurants and as our Summer Off-Premise Intern, your job is to fuel the passion our fans have for Portillo’s. You will join a small, scrappy, enthusiastic off-premise team. Your primary role will be to support guest in calls, emails, and restaurant support of current off-premise projects related to 3rd party marketplace, delivery, pickup and catering. You will work closely with the Strategic Partnership Manager, Call Center Manager and Off-Premise Coordinator, and Guest Services Manager. You will make real contributions to building the Portillo’s brand by getting the opportunity to work cross-functionally with multiple departments, including Marketing. This is not a role for the faint of heart – you’ll be put to work from the moment you arrive. But your contributions will make an impact well beyond your ten weeks with us.
This paid internship will last ten full weeks and will require you to spend time in our Oak Brook office and at various Portillo’s locations throughout the Chicagoland area.

SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to build relationships and use effective communication when talking with operations, other departments, guests and 3rd party marketplace partners.
- Use critical thinking to analyze current Off-Premise tactics, as well as research new strategies for the future.
